Delhi, NY (the county seat for Delaware County) is located in the center of Delaware County at the junction of Routes 10 and 28.
Nearby Interstate 88 gives Delhi easy access to the Capital District and the
Binghamton area, and New York City is only three hours away.
We are a center of commerce and communication with quaint shops, restaurants,
two banks, a shopping mall, and several area newspapers and radio stations.
A variety of health care providers as well as alternative medicine practices are
located in Delhi.
The State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi opened in 1913
as the State School of Agriculture and Domestic Science. Its enrollment continues
to increase each year, attracting nearly 2,000 students from across New York State.
Our central school district, Delaware Academy and Central School, totals about
1,200 students, and each year its senior class has one of the highest percentages
of Regents Scholarship winners in the state.
No matter what part of our greater Delhi area you decide to explore, you'll always
find something that will later evoke pleasant memories. Whether it be riding through
the covered bridges, visiting a general store and hearing your heels click across the
wooden floor boards, going to the numerous auction barns to get that great bargain or
just "kicking back" with your coffee can of worms and fishing pole, you'll not forget
the tranquility that our quaint little area has to offer.
